Zephra E. Ashley

Zephra E. Ashley, 63, of Grand Island, NE passed away on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at her home. A private family service will be held at a later date.

Zephra E. Ashley was born in 1960 in Fresno, CA to Elbert and Alice (Lupo) Ashley. She welcomed her oldest daughter in Fresno, before moving to Nebraska. There she welcomed two more daughters and worked in several industries as a single mother. She was known for her endless generosity and intelligence as well as her wonderful ability as a storyteller. She could strike up a conversation with just about anyone and would quickly turn strangers into friends.

Surviving relatives include her daughters: Mary, Rosa, and Erica; her beloved granddaughters: Zephra and Alie; and her siblings: Tommy, Diane, and Annette. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her oldest brother, James; and a great niece.
