Wendy Sue Borden

Wendy Sue (Sielaff) Borden, 61, of Hastings NE passed away at her home on Friday, August 21, 2026. A celebration of life is planned for October 10, 2026 at the DAV in Hastings, Nebraska. More details will be published at a later date. Family and friends are invited to gather together to celebrate Wendy's life, share memories and honor the lasting impact on those who loved her. 

She was born on September 1, 1964, in Grand Island NE to Delmar and Valerie (Etherton) Sieloff. Wendy grew up in Grand Island and graduated from Grand Island Senior High.

She spent the majority of her life in Hastings NE where she worked at Mary Lanning Hospital, Hastings College, and most recently at the Adams County Justice Center. Wendy will be remembered for the love she had for her family and the special place each of them held in her heart.

She is survived by her significant other, Randy Kugler of Hastings; her son, Spencer Kehl and his wife Jennifer of Kearney; granddaughters: Elah Kehl and Addysen Kehl; great grandson, Oliver all of Kearney; sister, Deb Shrack of Kearney; and brother-in-law, Jim Shanahan of Axtel. She is also survived by three step-grandchildren of Nebraska and Arizona, five step-great grandchildren of Nebraska and Arizona, and Randy's daughter, spouse and children of Texas.

Wendy was preceded in death by her husband, Steve Borden; parents, Delmar and Valerie Sieloff; and sisters: Karen Sheen and Terry Shanahan.

Wendy cherished the time she spent with those she loved and will deeply missed by her family and friends. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
