Hastings

Tammy Jo Quinn, 65, of Hastings, formerly of Cambridge, passed away on Thursday, September 14, 2023. She was born on January 16, 1958, in McCook Nebraska to David and Arva (Fanhholz) Edgerton. Tammy grew up in Cambridge and graduated from Cambridge High School. She was united in marriage to Tom Quinn on August 28, 1976. They were blessed with one daughter, Kayla Quinn. In 2018, Tom and Tammy moved to Hastings to retire and be closer to their daughter. Tammy was a member of the First Congregational Church in Cambridge. She enjoyed many different jobs throughout her life including working at the Cambridge Manor, the Cambridge school as a cook, and secretary at the First Congregational Church. Tammy enjoyed baking, catering, playing cards, camping, and spending time with Kayla. Tammy loved being an aunt and enjoyed being involved with her nieces, nephew, and their families. She would often be found cheering on all the great-nephews and great-nieces at any event.

 

Survivors include her loving husband, Tom Quinn of Hastings; daughter, Kayla Quinn of Hastings; two brothers, Brad (Sherri) Edgerton of Cambridge, and Don (Lisa) Edgerton of Oberlin; sister-in-law, Pat (Paul) Hoffman of Florida; nephew, David (Katrina) Edgerton; five nieces, Natasha (Kyle) Carman, Ashley Edgerton, Alisa Ryan, Amy (Trevor) Lee, and Amanda (Josh) Reinhardt; twelve great-nephews and great-nieces, Brogan, Brantley and Breckynn Edgerton, Parker, Mason, Griffin and Connor Ryan, Ryder, Adelynn and Deacon Lee, Hudson and Barrett Reinhardt; numerous family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Arva Edgerton; parents-in-law, Monna and Joseph Knight; grandparents, Walter and Bernice (Ridpath) Fahnholz and Glenn and Doles (Mayo) Edgerton; cousin and dearest friend, Jan Vala; and long-time camping friend, Marian Smith.  

 

Cremation was chosen with a Memorial Service planned for Monday, September 25, 2023 at 2:00 PM at the First Congregational Church, in Cambridge, with Pastor Bill Weaver officiating.  Inurnment will be at Fairview Cemetery. Memorials may be left in Tammy's name to the Cambridge Senior Center.
