Shirley Anne Beberniss

Shirley Beberniss, 82, of Kearney died January 9, 2017 at CHI Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. Funeral Services will be Friday, January 13 at 11:00 AM at Apfel Funeral Home in Grand Island with the Reverend Jim Garfield officiating. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 PM on Thursday at the funeral home.

Shirley was born on June 26, 1934 in Spalding, NE to Charles Dallegge and Clara Delay. She grew up in Bartlett, NE and attended Kearney State College to earn her teaching degree. She worked at Seedling Mile and Elba Public Schools over her 30+ year career. Shirley is preceded in death by her parents and 2 brothers. Survivors include her sons, Mike Schulte and Don Durre; her daughter, Candi Launer; 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
