Sandra "Sandy" Louise Hettle passed peacefully in Grand Island Nebraska
Monday September 5, 2022. Sandy was born November 24, 1937 to Orin Bruce and
Marguarite (Whipple) Keller in Toledo, Ohio. She grew up in Toledo, Ohio and
graduated from Libbey High School.
While she was in High School she worked at the Toledo Zoo. After high school
she worked for an insurance agency. She was united in marriage to Martin Walter
Hettle on November 23, 1957. To this union were born four children. They raised their
family in Toledo, Ohio. They enjoyed spending time at Little Wolf Lake in Michigan and
camping with their children and friends. They moved to Grand Island, Nebraska due to
a work transfer for Marty. She lived in Grand Island and rural Phillips, Nebraska. She
was a member of St. Leo's Catholic Church in Grand Island. Sandy was involved in
numerous organizations in Grand Island. She treasured the time she spent with her
family. She enjoyed traveling with her husband. She liked spending time with friends
too. She was a member of Newcomers, Gourmet, DUMP, and Platte Deutsche. She
volunteered at St. Francis and worked part time at an antique store downtown. She was
a fantastic mother and grandmother. She loved her husband and children. She was
always concerned about her kids, grandkids and great grandkids.
She is survived by her husband Marty Hettle of Grand Island and children
Michael "Mike" Hettle of Onsted, MI, Charles "Chuck" (Mary Pat) Hettle of Toledo Ohio,
Douglas "Doug" (Jacque) of Aurora, Nebraska and Ann Hettle of Omaha, Nebraska; grandchildren Ashley (Dino) Santacroce – Enzo, Ilaria and Ornella, Allison (Elias) Pourladian - Elam and Emil, Charles (Evelyn) - children, Kristina (John) Manning - Emilee, Brittany (Nathan) Beaverson - Kaleb, Carson & Adelyn, Tyrell Johnson, Logan (Kala) Hettle - Hayden, Charlotte, & Dakota, Wyatt (Taylor) Hettle - Beckett, Cheyanne (Cody) Hohlfeld - Jaxson, Dalton Hettle and special friend Tristian Kinsey, Hannah Hettle and fiance Tyler Knotts. Ryan (Erika) Thompson - Finley and Murphy, Quinn Thompson, Reid Thompson and special friend Paige Palermo. Brothers Dale Keller, Terry (Pat) Keller, Marc Keller. Sister-in-Law Norene Begell. Numerous nieces, nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents and brother Donald Keller.
