Robert “Bob” L. Blue, 62, of Grand Island, NE died on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at his home with family by his side. Funeral Services will be at 10:30am on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at the United Congregational Church in Grand Island with Pastor Andy Springer officiating. Burial will follow in the Grand Island Veterans Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday from 5-7pm at the church. Memorials are suggested to the United Congregational Church or to the American Cancer Society.
Bob was born on October 21, 1963, in Grand Island, NE to Ronald and Ruby (Eickhoff) Blue. He grew up in the Grand Island area and graduated from Central City High School in 1982. After high school Bob entered the U.S. Army on April 25, 1983, and was honorably discharged on October 24, 1986.
After his service, Bob moved to Denver to work for Quest telecommunications. In 2001 he moved back to Grand Island and worked for Action Cab before his retirement a few years later.
After 25 years of constant companionship, Bob was united in marriage to Keith Keeler on December 7, 2025, at the United Congregational Church.
Bob served on many committees such as the Hall County Democrats, Stuhr Museum, and UCC Church to name a few. He was passionate about serving, connections, and relationships with people in his community. He adored his pets and took great pride in his yard and garden.
He is survived by his husband, Keith Keeler; mom, Ruby Cargill; stepdaughter, Amanda Keeler; four-legged son, Oliver; brother, John (Kristine) Blue; sister, Anjanette Blue; niece, Lindsey (Tim) Blue Smith; great niece, Autumn Garrison; and mother-in-law, Judy Graham.
Bob is preceded in death by his father, Ron Blue; brother, Andrew Blue; and nieces: Courtney and Ashley Blue.
