Ramona K. Fischer

Ramona K. Fischer, 93, passed away on April 4, 2024, at Homestead Assisted Living of Hastings. A graveside service will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at Kenesaw Cemetery in Kenesaw, NE. Visitations will be 5-7 PM Monday, April 8, 2024, at Apfel Funeral Home in Kenesaw, NE, and on Tuesday, from 9:00-10:30 AM. Apfel Funeral Home is caring for the family.

Ramona Katherine Norgaard was born on January 28, 1931, to Andrew and Grace (Johansen) Norgaard in Minden, NE. She grew up in the Heartwell, Norman, and Minden areas and graduated from Minden High School in 1948.

She married Lavern Fischer on June 26, 1955, and they lived north of Minden, NE until they moved to Kenesaw, NE in 1957. Lavern preceded her in death on May 26, 2009. She moved to Hastings, NE in 2012.

Ramona worked as a telephone operator at Northwestern Bell in Minden for 12 years. After she married Lavern, she worked as a homemaker and helped Lavern with his plumbing business. She was a member of First St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Kenesaw, NE.

She is survived by her daughters: Kathy Parker, Karen (Lloyd) Muhle; grandchildren: Heidi (Eli) Rogers, Michelle (Steven) Novak, Sarah Parker; 10 great-grandchildren; four step grandchildren; step great-grandchildren; step great-great-grandchildren; brother, Kenneth (Pauline) Norgaard; sister, Martha Wit; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandson, Christopher Parker; son-in-law, Darrell Parker; and sister, Hazel Osterbuhr.
