Mary Belle Goff-Uden

Mary Belle Goff-Uden, 83, of Kenesaw, NE passed away on December 2, 2022 at Mary Lanning Healthcare in Hastings, NE.

Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on December 9, 2022 at the Christ Lutheran Church in Juniata with Reverend David Loeschen officiating. Burial will follow in Parkview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 PM on Thursday, December 8th at Apfel Funeral Home in Hastings. Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.

She was born on September 19, 1939 in Griffithville, Arkansas to Charlie and Ruth (McClish) Waggle. She grew up in Blytheville, AR and received her education from the Griffithville Country School.

She was united in marriage to Elmer “John” Goff on July 3, 1954 in Manilla, AR. The couple made Nebraska home in 1959 when John went to work for Walter Frickey, and later Z & Z Equipment Company. Making their home in Prosser for more than 30 years, they then moved to Hastings, and ultimately started E&M Trucking. Elmer passed away in 2004. Mary found love again and married Robert Uden in 2009 and they lived in rural Kenesaw until his death in 2015.

She was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church, PVAMA, and a past member of the Prosser school board. She enjoyed many trips to the casino, gardening, working and being outside, as well as numerous crafts, hand working hobbies and spoiling all her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Mary waitressed for many years, owned and operated a small cleaning company and continued to operate E&M Trucking.

She is survived by her daughter, Thuresa (Neal) Hoagland, and two sons, Charles Goff and Bernard (Shawna) Goff and; stepchildren, Steve (Donna) Uden, Sherrie (Mike) Aldridge, and Chirsty (Jim) Brumbaugh; 20 grandchildren, 51 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; and three sisters, Margie, Bertha and Ruby Jane, and two sisters-in-law, Geraldine and Cora.
