Mark Michael Janssen

Mark Janssen, 54, of Grand Island, NE died on Tuesday, October 6, 2026 in Grand Island. A Memorial Service will be at 11AM on Friday, October 16, 2026, at First Faith United Methodist Church with Reverend Ray Stone officiating. Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated at a later date.

Mark was born on January 2, 1972, in Grand Island, NE to Hermann and Carolyn (Poppe) Janssen. He graduated from Grand Island Senior High School in 1990. After which he worked at the Ravenna Cheese Plant. Due to poor health Mark had to stay home from work.

He is survived by his wife, Jill Janssen; mother, Carolyn Janssen; uncle, Paul (Pam) Poppe; cousins: David and Michael Poppe; and his nieces and nephews.

Mark is preceded in death by his father, Hermann; sister, Renee Janssen; maternal grandparents, Odin and Leona Poppe; and paternal grandparents, Otto and Ethel Janssen.
