Marilyn J. Fischer

Marilyn J. Fischer, 91, of Kenesaw died on October 29, 2025, at her home. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, November 3, 2025, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Kenesaw with Pastor Paul Duffy officiating. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at Apfel Funeral Home in Kenesaw.

Marilyn Joan Eighmy was born on August 13, 1934, in Heartwell, NE to Frank and Frieda (Johansen) Eighmy. She grew up in Minden and received her education at Minden Public Schools. She was united in marriage to LaMoine Fischer on December 25, 1956, in Minden. The couple lived in Kenesaw where she worked as a homemaker.

She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Ladies Aid, The Kenesaw Red Hatters. She taught Midweek Bible School, Sunday School, and Vacation Bible School. For over fifty years she played the church organ for Sunday services and for the choir.

She is survived by her son: Lloyd (Deb) Fischer, of Kenesaw; daughter: Julie Fischer, of Kenesaw; grandchildren: Lindsay (Logan) Pritchard, of Hastings, John (Amy) Fischer, of Kenesaw, Dan (Morgan) Fischer, of Kenesaw; great-grandchildren: Brittany Behrens, Reiley Wortman, Laikyn Graf, Caden Adams, Tucker Adams, Jackson Pritchard, Grayson Pritchard, Harrison Pritchard, Colson Pritchard, Mason Pritchard, Madden Fischer, Hutton Fischer; 6 great great-grandchildren; brother: Charles Eighmy; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: LaMoine Fischer; stepmother Mayme (Valentine) Eighmy; siblings: Georgianna (Merlin) Klusman, Gene Ray Eighmy, Brenda Farrow; parents-in-law; Clarence and Erna Fischer; brother-in-law: Wayne Fischer; sister-in-law: Lois Fischer.
