Margy A. Kieborz, 95, of Grand Island died on Friday, January 20, 2023, at the Grand Island Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be at 10:30 am, Tuesday, January 24 at Christ Lutheran Church in Grand Island with Reverend Tom Schneider officiating. Burial will follow at Litchfield Cemetery at 1:15 pm. Visitation will be one hour prior to the start of the funeral service.
Memorials are suggested to the Grand Generation Center or the Stuhr Museum.
Margy Anne Urwiller was born on April 3, 1927, in Ravenna, NE to Norton and Mable (Wheelock) Urwiller. She grew up on a family farm east of Ravenna and attended school at St. Michael. She then graduated from Ravenna High School in 1945.
She was united in marriage to Leonard Kieborz on February 24, 1947, in Smith Center, KS. After which the couple lived in Ravenna where she worked as a telephone operator. The couple then later moved to Grand Island where Margy worked as a housekeeper before retiring from McCain foods after 30 years of service. Later in retirement, she worked in Railroad Town at the Stuhr Museum.
Margy was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church and enjoyed many activities such as: gardening, playing bingo, traveling, garage saleing, having coffee with friends, taking care of her home, and attending her great grandchildren’s activities.
She is survived by her daughter, Debbie (Kieborz) Butler and her significant other Bill Bauer; grandson, Dustin (Lisa) Butler; great grandchildren: Dusty Rose, Brock, and Caden Butler; sisters-in-law, Beulah Urwiller and Rosaline Bell.
She is preceded in death by her husband Leonard Kieborz; brother, Richard Urwiller; brother and sister-in-law, Bernard and Joyce Kieborz; and brother-in-law, Lee Bell
