Lyle V. Myers

Hastings resident, Lyle V. Myers, 74, passed away Monday, September 2, 2019 at Mary Lanning Memorial HealthCare Hospital.



Memorial service will be Thursday, September 5, 2019 at 10 am at North Shore Assembly of God Church with Pastor Mel Johnson and Pastor Chris Johnson officiating. Book signing will be Wednesday, September 4, 2019 with family present from 4 pm to 6 pm at the Apfel Funeral Home Chapel, Hastings. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery, Trumbull, NE. Apfel Funeral Home, Hastings is in care of the family. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.apfelfuneralhome.com.



Memorials may be given to the North Shore Assembly of God Church or to the family.



Lyle was born December 4, 1944 to Vivan O. and Cordilla (Bates) Myers in Superior, NE. He graduated from Hastings High School in 1963. He married Linda Gibble on September 10, 1963 in Hastings. Lyle was an accomplished brick layer for, Dick Looye Construction and Hastings Masonary. Lyle was a volunteer fireman in Hastings for 25 years.



Lyle loved his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed his McDonalds Coffee Group, camping, reading, coke a cola, popcorn and peanuts and he was an avid train collector. He was a member of the North Shore Assembly of God Church and was a leader of the Keenagers Group at Church.



He is survived by his wife Linda, his children, Lana Langenberg, Lisa (Dave) Stec , Lonnie (Julie) Myers and Loren (Cherrie) Myers all of Hastings and special son, Victor Oceguera of Friend, NE, 13 grandchildren, Sarah, Chris, Breanna (Tavin), Blaine (Jayden), Levi, Jaden, Crystal (Daniyal), Nathan, Kaylee and Nick, 3 great grandchildren, Isabella, Holly and Cash, 3 sisters, Maxine (Lloyd) Sandoe, Cleta (Dean) Marshall and Iverna (Bob) Briggs, 2 brothers, Leroy (Linda) Myers and Lynn Myers, sister in law, Dorothy Gibble and numerous nieces and nephews.



He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother in law George Gibble.
