Hastings resident, Luella F. (Craig) Peel, 100, died Sunday August 3, 2008 at Perkins Pavilion, GSV, Hastings, NE. Services will be Wednesday, August 6, 2008 at 11 AM at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Alan Davis officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery. Visitation will be today, August 5, 2008 from 5 PM to 9 PM at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home and Cremation and up till service time at the church. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Luella was born July 10, 1908 to Charles and Louisa (Sershan) Craig in Gilead NE. She had 1 brother and 4 sisters. She met her future husband Amiuel W. Peel while working in Hebron and they married February 1931 in Fairbury, NE. Luella was an active member of the First Methodist Church since moving to Hastings from Holdrege in 1943. She was a member and officer of the Kensington and Circles in the church and served as a volunteer at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital, Meals on Wheels and RSVP. She is survived by 1 daughter, Carolyn Hansen, now of Buffalo, New York, and 3 beloved grandchildren, Scott of Boston, Massachusetts, Dana of Winchester, Virginia and Paige of Austin, TX. and 1 sister, Gen McClelland of Little Rock, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Amiuel, August 1966, 3 sisters, Irene Schuldt, Helen Wilford, Martha Aller Kenyon and 1 brother Charles Craig. Memorials may be given to the First United Methodist Church, Hastings, NE.
