Lorraine's faith was steadfast throughout her life. She was a devoted child of God and a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Cairo. Her generous heart was evident in the countless crocheted baby blankets, graduation blankets, and beautiful afghans she lovingly made and gifted to family and friends over the years.
Christmas was Lorraine's favorite holiday, and she took great joy in decorating her home each season. She also enjoyed working puzzles, creating diamond art, playing cards, completing word searches, and never missed an opportunity to watch Jeopardy!. Lorraine was often complimented on her youthful appearance and beautiful skin. She would simply smile and respond, "Oh, you're just saying that."
In 2023, Lorraine moved into her new apartment at Eventide Prairie Commons, where she continued to live independently for the remainder of her life. She treasured the many friendships she formed there and enjoyed participating in activities, outings, and the vibrant community that became her home. She was also blessed with many lifelong friends whose companionship brought her great happiness throughout the years.
Lorraine is lovingly survived by her children: Kathy (Nick) Powers of Kearney, Nebraska; Brenda (Doug) Sanford of Valentine, Nebraska; Steve (Marla) Rohlck of Leavenworth, Kansas; and Charlene (Mike) Gates of Cairo, Nebraska; her step daughter, Lorraine Jensen of Grand Island, Nebraska; nine grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and one step-great-great-grandchild.
