Lonnie Cross

Lonnie W. Cross, 72, formerly of Grand Island died November 17, 2025, at Eastern Nebraska Veterans Home in Bellevue, NE. Lonnie has been cremated according to his wishes. Apfel Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Lonnie was born September 17, 1948, in Gothenburg, NE, to Wayne and Betty (Johnson) Cross. He grew up in Grand Island and attended Grand Island schools. He entered the US Navy on March 7, 1967, and was honorably discharged on January 22, 1970, having served during Vietnam.

On May 17, 1987, Lonnie was united in marriage to Susan Williams in Grand Island. They lived in the Grand Island area.

Lonnie is survived by children: Scott Cross, Aaron Cross, Angela Cross; and brothers: Mike Cross and Robert G. Bartlett.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Susan; and a brother, John P. Bartlett.
