At Our Alberding-Wilson Location, Harvard, NE. Harvard resident, Jean E. Conklin, 78, died Sunday, May 18, 2008 at her home. Rosary will be Thursday, May 22, 2008 at 7 PM at the St. Josephs Catholic Church, in Harvard; NE. Mass of Christian burial will be Friday, May 23, 2008 at 10:30 AM at the St. Josephs Catholic Church, in Harvard, NE with Father James Benton officiating. Burial will be at a later date at the Harvard Cemetery, Harvard, NE. Visitation will be Thursday, May 23, 2008 form 12 noon to 5 PM at the Alberding-Wilson Funeral Home, Harvard, NE up till rosary time at the church. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Jean was born April 22, 1930 to George and Jean (Macmillan) Becht in Brooklyn, New York. When she was 16 the family moved to Harvard where she met the love of her life Harold Conklin, they were united in marriage March 30, 1947, they were married for 43 years. Harold passed away in October 28, 1989. She was a medication aide at the Harvard Rest Haven, for 20 years. After retirement she took great joy in caring for her great grandchildren and returned to Harvard Rest Haven working in the activity department. She was a member of the St. Josephs Catholic Church, St. Josephs Altar Society, the VFW Auxiliary, the Harvard Womans Club, the Glendale Club and the Harvard Card Club.. She also enjoyed fishing, crocheting, and spending time with her family. She is survived by, 2 daughters, Betty Jean Reddick and husband Dennis and Cindy Porter and husband Kenneth all of Harvard, NE. 4 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren. 3 sisters, Carol Becht of Crosby, TX, Pat Holmes of Greenville N.H. and Dorrie Pepiora of Fitchburg, Massachusetts. She was preceded in death by her husband Harold, 2 brothers and 2 sisters. A memorial will be established.
