Jason Daniel Keeshan, 51, of Lincoln, passed away peacefully at home early Monday morning, May 19, 2025.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Grand Island, officiated by Father Jorge Canela. Burial will follow at Grand Island City Cemetery.. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Apfel Funeral Home is assisting the family.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Jason’s GoFundMe for medical expenses or to St. Mary’s Cathedral in Grand Island for prayer intentions in his name.
Jason was born on December 12, 1973, in Albion, Nebraska, to James and MaryAnn (Vetick) Keeshan. He grew up in Albion and Grand Island, completing his high school education in Grand Island. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska at Kearney.
After college, Jason lived in Grand Island, where he co-owned and managed The Desert Rose, Gilligan’s Lounge, and Bullwinkle’s Bar and Grill with his brother-in-law, Randy. He later moved to Lincoln to start his own business and raise his children. Most recently, Jason served as a Sales Director for Edeniq.
Jason cherished time with his children, extended family, and friends. He enjoyed playing cards and games, watching Husker Football, racing, and golfing. He was an avid reader and actively participated in several cancer support groups, both seeking and offering support.
Jason is survived by his two sons, Konner Keeshan of Lincoln and Chase Keeshan of Omaha; sisters and brothers-in-law, Debra and Kenneth Warren of Grand Island, and Michelle and Randal Vallejo of Lincoln; Niece, Samantha Keeshan; nephews: Kyler Keeshan and Seth Nelson, and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and MaryAnn Keeshan, and his brother, James Keeshan, Jr.
