Janet Ann Thomas, 84, of Hastings died on June 7,2026 at Mary Lanning Healthcare. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 19, 2026, at Apfel Funeral Home in Hastings with Brother Bill Fogg officiating. Memorials are suggested to The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness’s

She was born on June 20, 1941, in Falls City, NE to Otto and Evangeline (Kottmann) Ketter. She grew up in Falls City, NE and Delta, CO, where she received her education at Delta High School.

She was united in marriage to LeRoy Thomas on May 28, 1971 in Arvada, CO. The couple lived in Boulder, CO where she was employed by Burlington Northern. She also lived in Red Cloud, NE and was employed at Red Cloud Elementary School as a computer teacher. She also worked on the family business, Thomas Tree Service, trimming and treating trees. In later years she received her CNA and enjoyed caring for people in their homes. She enjoyed butterflies, sunrises, computers, technology, spending time with family, and playing accordion and singing with her daughters. She also enjoyed teaching computers to students. She loved sharing with anyone who was interested in the wonderful hope Jehovah has given us.

She is survived by her son: Scott Thomas, of Clark, CO; daughters: Kettacina Tippin, of Hastings, and Shandra Thomas, of Holstein, NE; 14 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband: LeRoy Thomas; parents; and siblings: Ellen Ceder, Gregory Clark, and Jeanie Clark.
