Glenda Marie Shurigar

Glenda Marie Shurigar, age 78, of Hastings, Nebraska, passed away on Monday, January 5, 2026. Glenda was born on May 6, 1947, in Omaha, Nebraska. In 1948, she moved with her family from Bellevue, Nebraska, to Kenesaw, Nebraska, and later spent her younger years at the Martin Luther Home in Beatrice, Nebraska. She lived independently for many years in Hastings and later lived with and was lovingly cared for by Shelly Foster in Hastings.

Glenda loved traveling with her group and watching old TV comedies and westerns, bringing joy and laughter to those around her. She was the beloved daughter of Wilson and Mary (Phillips) Shurigar and had three brothers: Jon, Clinton, and Steve. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Clinton.

A memorial service to celebrate Glenda’s life will be held at a later date. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
