Hastings resident, Glen H. Baker, Sr. 85, of 1014 N. Briggs, died Sunday, January 6, 2008 at his home. Service with Masonic rites will be Wednesday, January 9, 2008 at 2:00 PM at the Grace United Methodist Church, Hastings, NE with Dr. Lee Wigert officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery with military rites. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 8, 2008 from 5 PM to 9 PM with family present from 6 PM to 7 PM at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Hastings, NE and 1 hour prior to service time at the church. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Glen was born October 21, 1922 to Harry E. Sr. and Luella (McDonald) Baker in Grand Island, NE. He graduated from Hastings High School in 1940. He served in the U.S Army Air Corp and the U.S. Navy Air Corp during WWII from 1941 to 1945. He married Euteva Toby Lee on December 7, 1943. He was a rural mail carrier for over 30 years at the Hastings Post Office, retiring in 1978. He was also an independent contractor. He was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church, the Midwest Lodge 317, Order of the Eastern Star Acacia #39, the American Legion, the Veterans Of Foreign Wars and the Disabled American Veterans all in Hastings, NE. He is survived by, his wife Euteva Toby, 1 daughter, Rebecca Baker of Beatrice, 3 sons, Glen H. Jr. and wife Nancy of Beatrice, Bruce and wife Susie of Hastings, Scott and wife Joyce of Kansas City, KS. 13 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 2 sisters, Edna Way of Tucson, AZ, and June Woodward of Yuma, AZ, and 1 brother Charles of Hastings. He was preceded in death by, his parents, 1 daughter, Beverly, 1 son, Rodney and 2 brothers Harry Jr. Bill and Gale Mike. Memorials may be given to the Shriners Childrens Hospital.
