Gerald "Jerry" Wayne Brown

Gerald “Jerry” Wayne Brown, 82 of Doniphan, Nebraska passed away peacefully on April 28, 2026, at Monument Health Medical Center in Rapid City, SD surrounded by his family. Funeral Services will be at 10:30AM on Monday, May 4, 2026, at the Doniphan United Methodist Church with Pastor Scott Evans officiating. Visitation will be from 4-6PM on Sunday at the Church. Burial will be at 2:30PM in the Elwood Cemetery in Elwood, NE. Memorials are suggested to the Nebraska Children’s Home.

Jerry was born June 4, 1943, to Wallace and Reva (Geer) Brown in Holdrege, NE.

He graduated from Elwood Public Schools with the class of 1961 after their family moved to Johnson Lake. Jerry served his country in the U.S Army National Guard from 1961 to 1969 and received an honorable discharge. He was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Carolyn Hilton, on January 23, 1965.

Jerry owned and operated a Lennox Dealership for 25 years and then became a Territory Manager until he retired. Jerry loved hunting, fishing, camping, traveling, golf, gardening, and Nebraska Cornhusker sports. He is a member of the Rosedale Methodist Church.

He is predeceased by his parents, his brother Wally and sister Jan.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 61 years, Carolyn (Hilton); children: Thad (Christina) KS and Jancy (Scott) Husak, NE; grandchildren: Johnathan & Jennifer, Cassidy & Ben, Kinzie, Hunter, Emilie & Jayce, and Hailee; great-grandchildren: Bentley, River, David and Samantha; brother, Jim (Millie) Brown, NE; sister-in-law, Barbara Taylor, AR; brother-in-law, Bob (Jane) Hilton, NE; and brother-in-law, Dan Hilton, AZ. Jerry is also survived by many other family members and friends.
