Frieda G. Wendt

Hastings resident, Frieda G. Wendt, 96, passed away Friday, June 10, 2011 at the Grand Island Veterans Home, Grand Island, NE. Graveside services will be Friday, June 17, 2011 at 1 PM at Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, NE with Rev. Joel Remmers officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, June 16, 2011 from 9 AM to 9 PM at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home, Hastings, NE. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Frieda was born April 12, 1915 to Levi P. and Jennie Rose (Lilley) Knapp in Lincoln, NE. She married Henry William Wendt, he passed away November 1, 1989. They had lived in Hastings, since 1937 coming from Harvard, NE. She was a member of the First St. Pauls Lutheran Church, in Hastings, NE, the Senior Fellowship Group, the Friday Friends and the National Assoc. Retired Federal Employees all in Hastings, NE. She is survived by two sisters, Venus Turner of Hastings, NE and Mary Herberg of Nehall, CA. She was preceded by death, by her parents, her husband Henry and one sister Anita Belle Uhrmacher and one brother LeRoy Knapp. Memorials may be given to the Henry Wendt Scholarship Fund at the Hastings Central Community College.
