Diane Marie Sink

Diane Marie Sink, 71, of Hastings died on September 24, 2026, at Mary Lanning Healthcare in Hastings. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church in Hastings with Father Craig Clinch officiating. Rosary will be at 10 a.m. Inurnment will be held at a later date at Calvary Cemetery in McCook, NE.

She was born on April 16, 1955, to Norman and Rita (Schreiber) Sekavec. She grew up in McCook, NE and received her education at St. Patrick Elementary School and McCook High School. On February 3, 1973, she was united in marriage to John R. Sink, Jr.

Diane worked at many jobs throughout her life. She was a Xerox copy machine repair person, postmaster, Realtor, and office manager. She moved to many places including both coasts, Texas, Montana, Nebraska, Kansas, and even the tip of the Alaskan Peninsula. Early in her marriage she lived in South Korea when her husband was in the military.

She was a creative and talented artist, making pictures she called “doodles”, needlework, and crafts. Recently she made prayer journals for her family and friends. Most of her focus was on family, playing cards at reunions, seeing nieces and nephews. They always knew Aunti Di had a candy or a toy in her purse. She was a member of St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church.

She is survived by her daughters: Dani Sharp of Montana, JoVanna Eisenbarth of New Hampshire; mother: Rita Sekavec; sister: Kim (Jim) O’Dea, brother: Jeff (Lisa) Sekavec; five grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

She is preceded in death by her husband, John Sink, Jr., and father, Norman Sekavec.
