Dennis was born Oct. 10, 1947, at the St. Francis Hospital in Grand Island, the second of three children, to August and Maxine (Johnson) Baasch.
He served in the Air Force for 4 years as a Radar Technician. After the service Dennis married Kathleen (Hargens) Baasch on January 3, 1970, together they have 4 children. During this time, Dennis and Kathy farmed outside of Cairo from 1970 until the 2010. He also was employed with Case New Holland where he was a welder and an assembler until he retired in 2009. Dennis enjoyed watching sports, playing cards and games, golfing, eating snacks, and just being with his family and friends.
He was well-known in his community and did all he could to make sure those closest to him were happy at all times. He could be a prankster, but it was always in good fun.
His deep love for his wife was present, as he always shared his kisses and the quiet whisper of “I love you”. He was a faithful follower of God and when able, spent many hours in his bible.
Dennis is survived by his beloved wife, Kathleen (Hargens) Baasch; his brother, Gene Baasch of Grand Island, his sons, William and Lori Baasch of Doniphan, David Baasch of Cairo; his daughers, Kimberly and Eric Hostetler, Brenda Baasch Anderson both of Cairo; grandchildren, Hannah and Ryan Bates of Lincoln, Bradley and Ashley Baasch of Hastings, Heath and Shelby Hostetler of Cairo, Trace Baasch of Kearney, Brooklyn Hostetler of Cairo, Michael Anderson of Cairo, and Hailey Anderson of Cairo.
