Delores Eleanor Mathews

Delores Eleanor Mathews, 92 of Grand Island, died Saturday, February 15, 2014 at her home in Grand Island.

Graveside Services will be 2:30 P.M. Thursday at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Cairo, Nebraska. Visitation will be from 12:00 P.M. 2:00 P.M. at Apfel Funeral Home in Cairo. Memorials are suggested to the family in lieu of flowers.

Delores was born on August 23, 1921 in Omaha, Nebraska to Charles and Lillian Brisbane. She grew up in Omaha. She was married to Everett Mathews. She enjoyed crocheting and also enjoyed riding Harleys with her husband. She was involved with inspecting aircraft of all types.

Survivors include her daughter, Dolores Schutter of Grand Island; son, Everett Mathews of Prosser; 18 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and sisters, Marlene and Winnifred.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 1 brother; 1 sister; and daughter, Diane.
