Charlotte Burr, 83, of Hastings died Saturday, June 14, 2025, at The Heritage at College View in Hastings, NE. Memorial service will be 11:00 AM Thursday, June 19, 2025 at Christ Lutheran Church with Pastor Darren Olson officiating. Burial will be at 9:30 AM Thursday prior to the service at the Kenesaw Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-7 PM at the Apfel Funeral Home in Kenesaw. Charlotte was born on March 11, 1942, in Hastings, NE to Lawrence and Waunita (Finnigsmier) Uden. She grew up on a farm outside of Kenesaw and attended St. Paul’s Lutheran School in Kenesaw and Kenesaw High School. She graduated in 1959.
On November 19, 1960, Charlotte was united in marriage to Dennis Burr at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Kenesaw. After which the couple lived on the farm in rural Juniata. She was a farmwife and mother until going to college and graduating from UNK. She taught at Headstart in Hastings until she retired.
Charlotte was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and was active in LWML and choir. She enjoyed Nebraska Football and Volleyball, and watching all sports or activities that her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren participated in. She also liked spending time with family, collecting angels and bees.
Survivors include children: Melanie (Arlen) Gangwish of Shelton, Mark (Marcy) Burr of Juniata, Marcy Jacobsen of Omaha; grandchildren: Jason Kirkover, Megan (Mitch) Ebner, Jeff Gangwish, Amber Kirkover, Joseph (Liz) Gangwish, Jena (Levi) Ochsner, Whitney Burr, Kelsey Burr, Justin (Jamie) Burr, Gabrielle Jacobsen, Caleb (Kristina) Jacobsen; great grandchildren: Jaxon, Mason, Weston and Klayton Ebner; Elena, Caspian and Marceline Kirkover; Thea, Krew and Blayke Gangwish; Stetson, Crawford and Walker Ochsner; Owen, Kallan, and Harley Morgan; Corbin, Kiptyn, Kya and Charlotte Brisbin; Dean and baby boy Burr; Sunniva and baby boy Olsen; Luke and Hailey Jacobsen; sisters: Rosie (Leonard) Schroeder of Kenesaw, Alice (Mike) Goodman of Spring Hill, FL; brothers and sisters-in-law: Joan Bockstadter, David (Janet) Burr, Linda Wadman; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis; granddaughter, Ashton Burr, brothers and sister-in-law: Delmer Bockstadter, Dick (DeAnne) Burr, Jack Wadman; and nephew, Dan Burr.
