Catalina Guerrero Zarraga

Catalina Guerrero Zarraga, de 84 años, residente de Wood River, Nebraska, falleció el domingo 5 de julio de 2026 en CHI Health St. Francis, rodeada de su familia. Se celebrará una Misa de Exequias Cristianas a las 10:30 a. m. del viernes 10 de julio de 2026 en la Iglesia Católica St. Mary’s de Wood River. El sepelio se llevará a cabo posteriormente en el Cementerio St. Mary’s de Wood River. Las visitas serán de 5:00 a 7:00 p. m. el jueves en la iglesia, seguidas por el rezo del Santo Rosario a las 7:00 p. m. Se sugiere que las contribuciones en memoria se hagan a la familia, quien designará su destino en una fecha posterior.

Catalina nació el 9 de marzo de 1942 en Guanajuato, México, hija de Gregorio Guerrero y Martina Zárraga. Creció y asistió a la escuela en Guanajuato. Contrajo matrimonio con Enrique Trejo en 1960. De esta unión nacieron diez hijos.

En el año 2000 se mudó a Grand Island para estar más cerca de su familia. A Catalina le encantaba cuidar su jardín y dedicar tiempo a sus plantas y flores. También disfrutaba hacer manualidades, tejer y remendar ropa.

Le sobreviven sus hijos: Héctor (María Araceli) Trejo, Luis (María) Trejo, Vianey Trejo, Liliana Trejo, María (Mario) Rodríguez, Rosa María Trejo (Martín Rodríguez), Araceli Trejo y Fernando Trejo (Martina Rodríguez); además de 43 nietos y 36 bisnietos.

Le precedieron en la muerte su esposo, Enrique, y sus hijos, Hortencia y Ricardo Trejo.

Catalina Guerrero Zarraga, 84, of Wood River, NE died on Sunday, July 5, 2026, at CHI Health St. Francis surrounded by her family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30am on Friday, July 10, 2026 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Wood River. Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Cemetery in Wood River. Visitation will be from 5-7pm on Thursday at the Church with a Rosary service starting at 7PM. Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated at a later date.

Catalina was born on March 9, 1942, in Guanajuato, Mexico to Gregorio Guerrero and Martina Zarraga. She grew up and went to school in Guanajuato. She was united in marriage to Enrique Trejo in 1960. To this marriage ten children were born.

She moved to Grand Island in 2000 to be closer to her family. Catalina love tending to her garden with all of her plants and flowers. She enjoyed crafts, knitting, and mending clothes.

Catalina is survived by her children: Hector (Maria Araceli) Trejo, Luis (Maria) Trejo, Vianey Trejo, Liliana Trejo, Maria (Mario) Rodriguez, Rosa Maria Trejo (Martin Rodriquez), Araceli Trejo, and Fernando Trejo (Martina Rodriguez); 43 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Enrique and children: Hortencia and Ricardo Trejo.
