Carolyn Bullock

Carolyn Ruth (Eckley) Bullock, 81, was born March 13,1945 in Rulison, CO. She died peacefully on Monday, June 8, 2026, in Prosser, NE.

Carolyn was born to Chester Clay Eckley and Lois Caroline (Martin) Eckley. She had two older sisters and one younger brother.

She was a 1963 graduate of Auburn Adventist Academy in Auburn, Washington, where she met her husband, Travis Laverle Bullock. They were married on July 4, 1965, in Hermiston, OR. They celebrated their 60th year of marriage in 2025.

Carolyn and Travis had three children – Candace Rene, Cheri Lynette, and Cindy Lou. After their youngest daughter started school, Carolyn worked as a secretary at a medical center and then at the local high school. She went back to college in 1993, earning her Bachelor of Science degree from Eastern Oregon University in 1996, and her Master’s degree in social work from Walla Walla College (now University) in 1998. She then spent many years as an LCSW in her private practice in the Kennewick, WA area, where she counseled a multitude of individuals, children, families, and couples until she retired in 2010 after surviving a stroke.

Carolyn had a passion for working with the youth, showing them who Jesus is and leading them toward a relationship with their Heavenly Father. As early as 1963 she was dedicated to volunteering as the church youth group leader and then started the Hermiston Pathfinder Club in the early 1970’s, leading out in that capacity for more than 20 years. In 2007 she began serving as a Pathfinder district coordinator for the Blue Mountain District of the Upper Columbia Conference. She dearly loved working with her Pathfinder family as she helped pioneer the Teen Pathfinder program, as well as the Counselor Training program for the Conference. Carolyn’s greatest desire was to let everyone she encountered know just how much Jesus loves them.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Lois Eckley, and her brother, Conrad Eckley. She is survived by her husband, Travis Bullock; her sisters, Rosalind Edwards and Darlene Bullock; her children, Candace Osgood, Cheri Bullock, and Cindy Kiefer; her grandchildren, Ashlee (Osgood) Michel, Courtney (Kiefer) Houston, Trent Kiefer, and Kikona (Osgood) Bautista; and her great grandchildren, Ellie, Gabriel, and Craig.

Family, friends, caregivers, and others are invited to a memorial service in honor of Carolyn at 3:00pm on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at the Hermiston Seventh-Day Adventist church, 855 W Highland Ave., Hermiston OR 97838. Following the service a meal will be served, where Carolyn’s family and loved ones look forward to visiting with you as we reminisce and find comfort in looking forward to the soon return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
