Carl R. Varah

Doniphan resident, Carl R. Varah, 80, died Wednesday, May 2, 2007 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital. Service will be Monday, May 7, 2007 at 2 PM at the First St. Pauls Lutheran Church with the Rev. Joel Remmers officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Trumbull, NE. Visitation will be Sunday, May 6, 2007 from 12 noon to 9 PM at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home and up till service time at the church. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Mr. Varah was born September 14, 1926 to William and Blanche (Wisnand) Varah in Ayr, NE. He attended Trumbull and Hastings schools. He married Luella Margaret Gartner on December 18, 1944 in Concordia, Kansas. They moved to a farm near Doniphan in 1947. He was a farmer and he and his wife owned Luellas Ceramics. They both retired in 1999. He is survived by 3 Daughters, Loretta Broberg of Grand Island, NE, Connie Hoagland and Bonnie Will both of Hastings, NE. 1 Son, Tim Varah of Lincoln, NE. 10 Grandchildren and 16 Great Grandchildren. 2 Brothers, Wilbur Varah of Corvallis, Oregon and Kenneth Varah of Hastings, NE. He was preceded in death by his wife, Luella, 1 daughter, Linda K. Kort, 1 brother Leonard Varah. Memorials may be given to the family.
