Grand Island

Brian Thomas “Judah” Everingim passed away on May 22. 2025, in Grand Island, NE at the age of 45. He was born on June 30, 1979, in Colorado, and attended school in Colorado Springs. He worked in construction for his parent’s business before embarking on his journey to Florida, where he was able to connect with his love of the ocean and center himself by the beach.

Brian did not compromise his individuality for a single moment throughout his life. His uniqueness was apparent in all of the ways he expressed himself: art, poetry, and writing, which revealed his sensitivity and emotional depth. Brian had a way with words that was distinct and touching to everyone he shared his inner world with – a gypsy soul, with an unforgettable smile and an open heart. He approached life without judgement for others. His outgoing personality led him to the service industry, where he had a gift for providing others with an enjoyable dining experience.

Brian lived his life to the fullest through simple pleasures. He had a deep love for the ocean and spent many years of his life enjoying the tranquility of the water. His free spirit shined through in everything he did. However, his strong and uncontainable spirit made it difficult for Brian to find his place in this world. Through his struggles, he was surrounded by family and friends who offered their support, which made him feel less alone in his hardships.

Brian was preceded in death by his grandfathers: Richard “R.V.” Borchert and Gerald Everingim; grandparents, Dennis and Mary Altizer; and uncle, James “Jim” Borchert,

He is survived by his loving parents, Roxie and Dennis Altizer; brothers: Justin (Rebekah) Altizer, Zach (Kelly) Altizer; nephew, Jayden Altizer; niece, Kaylin Altizer; grandmother, Judi Borchert; uncles: Mike (Lori) Borchert, Sean “Precious” Borchert, Tim Altizer, and Jason (Carrie) Leverington; aunts: Tammy Temple, Monica (special friend, Coach) Olson; and Nick Everingim; as well as many cousins, extended family and friends who were touched by Brian’s one of a kind spirit.

“I’d rather be all by myself, barefoot with wild hair, talking to the moon than be just parts of me that fit in with how people expect me to be.”
