Anthony James Wagoner

Anthony “Tony” James Wagoner, 38, of Grand Island, NE died on June 23, 2025. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM Friday, June 27, 2025, at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Grand Island with Father Jorge Canela celebrating. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Wood River. Visitation will be held Thursday from 5-7 PM at Apfel Funeral Home in Grand Island.

Tony graduated from Central Catholic High School in 2005. He earned his bachelor’s degree from UNL College in 2018, and his Juris Doctorate from Washburn University Law on June 11, 2024.

The family extends appreciation to the Public Defender’s office of Hall County, where Tony was employed as an attorney.

He is survived by his parents, James A. and Georgiene A. Wagoner; brothers: Nicholas R. (Lauren Jewett) Wagoner, Lucas L. (Natasha Dohrman) Wagoner, and William G. (Mallory Lonergan) Wagoner; many wonderful aunts, uncles, and cousins; nieces: Georgiene "Squish", Renatta "Peanut", and nephew, Graham.

Tony is preceded in death by his grandparents and infant brother, Daniel Dennis Wagoner.
