Ann C. Atkins

Ann C. (Waegner) Atkins, 66, of Grand Island died Thursday, Jan. 26, 2017, suddenly at home.

Ann was born on June 13,1950, at Aurora, Ill., to Donald and Mary (Meister) Waegner. She grew up in Aurora and graduated from Rosary High School in 1968, then attended Creighton University in Omaha. Ann worked in the lab at St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island until her retirement in May 2015.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving companion of 33 years, Steve Beall of Kearney; siblings, Edward (Laura) Waegner and Mary Kathryn Waegner, both of Aurora; her sister-in-law, Debby Waegner of Mesa, Ariz.; a niece, Tara (Michael) Hassebroek; and a nephew, Jason (Meghan) Waegner.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Mary Waegner, a brother, Thomas Waegner; and a nephew, Bill Waegner.

Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Apfel Funeral Home in Grand Island.
