Allen Lee Starkweather

Allen L. Starkweather, 39, of York, NE died on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at the York General Hospital. Memorial services will be at 11AM on Monday, February 23, 2026, at Apfel Funeral Home in Grand Island, NE with Derek Apfel, CFC officiating. Burial will follow in the Grand Island City Cemetery. Visitation will be an hour prior to the start of the service. Memorials are suggested to the family to help with funeral expenses.

Allen was born on October 4, 1986, in Elmira, New York to Charles Starweather and Tina Marie Elliott. He grew up and graduated in Elmira, New York. Allen then lived in Fairbanks, Alaska and York, Nebraska.

He was united in marriage to Amber Cooper on July 4, 2018, in York, NE after which the couple remained in York. Allen was employed by Kroeker Grain & Lumber as well as Mars.

Allen enjoyed playing KMR and BRL Xbox race league, watching NASCAR, the Philadelphia Eagles, and the Yankee’s.

He is survived by his wife, Amber Starkweather of York, NE; fur babies: Shadow, Mis Attitude, and Dakota; father, Charles Starkweather of NY; mother-in-law, Sandy Cooper of York, NE; brothers: James, Fred, and Kevin Lyons all of Nebraska; brother-in-law, Dakota Cooper; sisters: Eva Stimmerman Watkins of New York and Kasandra Elliott of York, Nebraska.

Allen is preceded in death by his mother, Tina Elliott and father-in-law, Barry Cooper.
