Hastings resident, Virginia E. Harpham, 87, died Thursday, June 25, 2009 at Perkins Pavilion, Good Samaritan Society, Hastings-Village. Rosary will be Sunday, June 28, 2009 at 7 PM at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home Chapel, Hastings, NE with Father Joseph Walsh officiating. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, June 29, 2009 at 10 AM at St. Cecelias Catholic Church, Hastings, NE with Father Joseph Walsh. Burial will be in the Kenesaw Cemetery, Kenesaw, NE. Visitation will be Saturday, June 27, 2009 12 noon to 9 PM and Sunday, June 28, 2009 from 12 noon up till rosary time in the chapel. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Virginia was born February 10, 1922 to George and Eugenia (Petroz) Yasenchak in Portage, PA. She graduated from Fordson High School in Detroit, MI. She married Charles Harpham in 1943 in Spokane, WA; they lived in Roseland, NE moving to Hastings, NE in 1945. Virginia was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Cecelias Catholic Church, Hastings, NE, the Legion of Mary, the Perpetual Adoration, the Catholic Daughters, the Czech Society, the St. Cecelia Altar Society, and a Brownie Leader, all in Hastings, NE. She is survived by 5 daughters, Patricia Harpham, Marcia McIlheran and Micky Pallas all of Hastings, NE, Shelia Harpham and Mary Rogers both of Fairfield, NE. 2 sons, Charles P. Harpham of Ankeny, Iowa and Allen Harpham of Hastings, NE, 22 Grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren, and 1 sister, Martha Melancon of Detroit, MI. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles, her parents, 11 siblings. A memorial will be established.
