Tena "Martha" Margaret Lang

Hastings resident Tena Margaret Martha Lang, 89, passed away Sunday, April 20, 2014 at Perkins Pavilion, Good Samaritan Society, Hastings-Village.



Services will be 11 am Thursday, April 24, 2014 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Hastings with Pastor Warneke officiating. Burial will be at 2:30 on Thursday at the Greenwood Cemetery, Franklin, NE. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 23, 2014 from, 4 pm to 7 pm with the family present from 6 pm to 7 pm at the Apfel Funeral Home Chapel, Hastings. Martha was born August 27, 1924 to T. Jerry and Tena M. (Bienhoff) Tobiassen in Macon, NE. She was baptized September 7, 1924 and confirmed April 10, 1938. She graduated from the Franklin High School. She married Charles Clifford Lang on November 17, 1946, Charles passed away April 27, 1979.



She worked as a Laundress for the Franklin CO. Memorial Hospital and when retiring in 1991 she was Head of Laundry. She had lived in Franklin all her life moving to Hastings in 1992.



She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, Hastings.



Martha loved to read and teach young children.



She is survived by her son Jerry Lee (Janean Kay) Lang, her daughter, Lana Kay (Ted) Smith, 5 grandchildren and 11 great grandchrildren and numerous great great grandchildren.



She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles, sisters and spouses, Everett and Liz Stearley, Harry and Dora Griffin and one brother and spouse, Albert and LaVanda Tobiassen.
