Shirley A. Mckinney

Shirley A. McKinney, 88 of Grand Island, died Thursday, November 8, 2018 at CHI Health, St. Francis Medical Center with her family by her side.



Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at St. Pauls Lutheran Church, Grand Island with the Rev. Bill Pavuk officiating. Inurnment will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Grand Island. There will be no visitation. Memorials are suggested to St. Pauls Lutheran Church, Grand Island, NE.



Shirley A. McKinney was born September 28, 1930 in Grand Island, Nebraska the daughter of Clarence & Winnie (Dillon) Campbell. She received her education in Grand Island graduating from Grand Island Senior High with the class of 1948.



She was united in marriage to Charles McKinney, January 1, 1953 at St. Pauls Lutheran Church, Grand Island. The couple made their home in Grand Island and had been married for 59 years.



She was employed for 35 years for various grocery stores, Bills Trading Post, OP Skaggs and IGA.



She was a volunteer for several years at the Grand Generation Center and taught Sunday School for many years.



She enjoyed watching sports, Husker football and attending the games with Chick, volleyball games and the Kansas City Royals baseball games. Shirley loved to read, embroider and spent time with her family and friends.



Those left to cherish her memory include several nieces and nephews.



She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Charles McKinney, brothers, Clarence, Conrad, Thomas and Paul Campbell, sisters, Phyllis Campbell, Joan Smith and Carol Knuth, father & mother-in-law, Charles & Luella McKinney, several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
