Hastings resident, Scott N. Rathje, 47 died Saturday, January 12, 2008 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital, Hastings, NE. Services will be Thursday, January 17, 2008 at 10:00 AM at the Faith Lutheran Church, Hastings, NE with the Rev. Carl Rehwaldt officiating. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery, York, NE at 2PM. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 16, 2008 from 9 AM to 9 PM at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home and Cremation Service and 1 hour prior to service time at the church. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Scott was born, March 12, 1960, to Harry and Donna (Quick) Rathje in York, NE. He was baptized on April 3rd 1960. He graduated from York High School in 1978. He married Rosie Nielson, August 4, 1989. They moved to Hastings in 1989 coming from Sydney, NE. He was the manager for the D.T.E. Rail Car Services in Hastings, and Grand Island, NE. He also worked for the Glover Group and Cornhusker Rail all in the past 25 years. He was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church, Hastings, NE. He is survived by his wife, Rosie of Hastings, NE, 1 daughter Lacey, at home, and 2 sons, Damon serving in Iraq and Seth at home, his mother Donna Rathje of York, NE, 3 sisters and brother-in-laws, Robin Handley and husband Wes, of Edmund, OK, Rhonda Vanicek and husband Mike of Grand Island, NE, Peggy Johnson and husband Arnold of Albion, NE, mother-in-law, Lamila Nielson of Sydney, NE, and special friend Kevin Koepke and family of Hastings, NE. He was preceded in death by his father, Harry. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Red Cross, the Faith Lutheran Church or the American Heart Association.
