Ruby Lucille Lightner

Hastings resident, Ruby Lucille (Rutt) Lightner, 86, passed away Friday, June 6, 2008 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital, Hastings, NE. Services will be Friday, June 13, 2008 at 10 AM at the First Presbyterian Church in Hastings, NE with Pastor Dr. W.T. Bud Israel officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, NE. Visitation will be Thursday, June 12, 2008 from 9 AM to 9 PM at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home and up till service time at the church. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Ruby was born July 4, 1921 to Frank and Mabel (Adler) Rutt in Campbell, NE. She was one of eight children. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, and the Order of the Eastern Star, Acacia Chapter #39. She is survived by her husband, Ed Lightner of 69 years. 1 son, Kenneth Lightner and 2 daughters, Vickie Lightner and Carolea Lightner Ringenberg. 6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren and well as many other close relatives. Memorials may be given to the Shriners Hospital for Children or the Order of the Eastern Star, Acacia Chapter #39. Your heavenly Father has given you life, dear friend and not just life, but eternal life. Your body will die and be replaced by one far better. For those who place their hope in Him, death holds no threatno sting. It is simply a transition from one form of life to another. He shepherds us as we pass through the Valley of the Shadow of Death, proving that death really is just a shadow---one that vanishes in the light of His presence.
