Robert Earl Caldwell

Robert Earl Caldwell, 78 of Grand Island, died Friday, October 23, 2015 at CHI Health St. Francis, Grand Island, NE.

Memorial services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at Vida Nueva Church,15th & Eddy St. Grand Island with Rabbi Mark Chism officiating. Inurnment of the ashes will be private at a later date. Family will receive friends prior to services time at Grace Baptist Church, Grand Island. Memorials are suggested to the family.

Robert E. Caldwell was born September 19, 1937 at Marian County, Indiana the son of Chester & Valeta (Prey) Caldwell. He grew up in Indiana and received his education there. He studied Horticulture/Tree Surgeon at Kent, Ohio, and worked for the City of Indianapolis in the Parks & Recreation Department from March 1967 until May 1969. May of 1969 to December of 1970 he was employed at Remco Hydraulic, and later was a machinist at Berkley Machine in Norfolk, Virginia from January 1972 until June 1992. He moved to Sunset, Utah where he worked at Wal-Mart.

He was united in marriage to Leila Boseman, September 17, 2008 in Farmington, Utah. The couple made their home in Grand Island.

He attended various churches and loved woodworking and sodoku puzzles. He volunteered with the Nebraska State Fair and Road Assistance Program with the Nebraska State Patrol.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Leila Caldwell.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Tom.
