Rick A. Reed

Hastings resident, Rick A. Reed, 64, passed away, Thursday, April 25, 2019 at Mary Lanning Memorial HealthCare, Hastings.



Services will be 10 AM Saturday, May 4, 2019 at the Apfel Funeral Home Chapel, Hastings with Rev. Kent Rogers officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings. Visitation will be Friday, May 3, 2019 from 4 pm to 7 pm at the Apfel Funeral Home, Hastings. Apfel Funeral Home is in care of the family. Memorials may be given to the family to be designated at a later date.



Rick was born December 31, 1954 to Gale and Bonita (Shay) Reed in Hastings. He graduated from Hastings High School in 1973, then attended Kearney State College. He worked for Vontz Construction until he became ill. He enjoyed spending time with his granddaughter, fishing and cooking.



He is survived by his mother and step father Bonita (Melvin) Harper, of Hastings, two daughters Mandi Reed and Kala Reed both of Omaha, one granddaughter, Dacia Reed of Omaha, two step brothers, Dan and Randy Harper both of McCook, one step sister, Marsha Valentine of Hastings, one brother in law and good friend, Jeff (Trisha) Weaver of Doniphan, best friend, Scott (Linda) Stoetzel and his family.



He was preceded in death his father, Gale and one brother Randy Reed.
