Paula Jo Reimers

Paula J. Reimers, 75, of Grand Island died Saturday, November 17, 2018, at Park Place Care Center, Grand Island.



Funeral service will be 10:30 AM, Wednesday, November 21, 2018, at Apfel Funeral Home with Derek Apfel officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation with the family present will be 4-6 PM Tuesday at the Apfel Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation. Apfel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.



Paula Jo was born May 17, 1943, in Hastings, NE, the daughter of Paul and Betty (Peters) Penner. She grew up in Grand Island and attended Walnut Junior High School, graduating from Grand Island Senior High in 1961.



She was united in marriage to Patrick Patten in 1962 until his death in 1972. In 1977 she married Ronald Reimers. Paula worked in food service at St. Francis Medical Center for 30 plus years, and after retiring, worked in food service at Knickrehm Elementary School.



Paula enjoyed gardening and being at home with her family and fur babies.



Survivors include her husband: Ronald Reimers, Sr. of Grand Island, NE; children: Brian Patten of Denver, CO, April Gdowski of Omaha, NE, Michelle Patten of Lincoln, NE, Ronald Jr. (Lori Peters) Reimers of Grand Island, NE, Mark (Andrea) Reimers of Grand Island; grandchildren: Joseph Olivo, Jr., Joshua Patten, Tikiya Whitebull, Elizabeth Raber, Elijah McHugh, Carter Ellington, Parker Heaton, Cadence Reimers; great grandchildren: Chase, Lyric, and Zayda Patten; brother: James Dale Penner; and niece: Deborah Ahrends of Grand Island.



She was preceded in death by her parents and husband: Patrick.
