Orval Nouzovsky

October 20, 1936 — January 21, 2016

Orval Nouzovsky, 79, of Grand Island passed away Thursday, January 21, 2016, at CHI Health St. Francis in Grand Island.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 26, 2016, at Stolley Park Church of Christ with Minister Mike Reeves officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, January 25, 2016 at Apfel Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated at a later date.

Orval Nouzovsky was born October 20, 1936, in Merrick County, Nebraska the son of Joseph and Rose (Klepedko) Nouzovsky. He grew up in the Central City area and graduated from Central City High School in 1955. He moved to Grand Island in 1956.

Orval was united in marriage to Jeanie (Patty) Sandquist, December 1, 1956, at Red Cloud, NE. The couple made their home in Grand Island where Orval was employed by Duff Roofing Co. for 43 years. Following retirement he sub-contracted with Goodwill Industries for a number of years.

He was a member of the Stolley Park Church of Christ and was a volunteer at the Nebraska Youth Camp in Kearney NE.

He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, camping, gardening and building things with iron and wood.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Jeanie (Patty) Nouzovsky of Grand Island, three daughters & sons-in-law, Debra Jean Erickson and fiance Dick Munn of York, NE, Kaylene Rose & Jerry Derr of Grand Island, NE, Joanie Cheryce & Robert Guerrero of Grand Island, NE., two sons & daughters-in-law, Orval Dean & Chris Nouzovsky of Rison, Arkansas, Barry Joe & Christie Nouzovsky of St. Joseph, Missouri, son-in-law, Steve & Terri Beck of Grand Island, NE, numerous grandchildren, and great grandchildren, two brothers & sister-in-law, Millard & Ida Mae Nouzovsky of Central City, NE, Glen Nouzovsky of Glendale, Arizona, two sisters, Lucille Nordstrom of Central City, NE, Dorothy Rinke of Riverside, California.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Barbara Joanelle Beck, granddaughter, Ashley Rose Nouzovsky, two brothers, Melvin & Don Nouzovsky, two sisters, Erma Traudt and Charlene Shenk.
