Novella Eilane Brooks

Juniata resident, Novella E. Brooks ,78, passed away, Thursday, August 29, 2019 at Bryan LGH West Hospital, Lincoln, Nebraska.



Services will be Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at 11am at the Juniata Community Church, Juniata, Nebraska with Rev. Tom Murray officiating. Burial will be held at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery next to her husband Rolland. Book signing will be Tuesday, September 3, 2019 one hour prior to the memorial service at Juniata Community Church, Juniata, Nebraska. Apfel Funeral Home, Hastings is in care of the family. A memorial will be designated to the family to determine at a later date.



Novella was born in Hastings, Nebraska on August 9, 1941 to Floyd and Evelyn (Gerloff) Andersen. She graduated from Juniata High School. Novella married Rolland Brooks on August 30, 1959 at the Juniata Community Church, Juniata, Nebraska. With this union they had three sons; Marty, Brian, and Kenny. Novella was a homemaker. She worked for Midwest Distributing Company, Andy’s café as a cook, and when her husband Rolland retired, they were School Bus drivers for District #29 Juniata/Wallace/Adams Central, and drove the Adams County Senior Services Handi Bus Rolland passed away December 22, 2012.



She was a member of the Juniata Community Church and The Red Hat Society. She enjoyed sewing her children’s clothing when they were younger. She also enjoyed cooking, puzzles, and coloring.



Novella was preceded in death by her husband, Rolland, her parents; and infant son, Gene Allen Brooks, and three siblings.
