Myrle Louise Frey passed away on Monday, December 17, 2012 at Atherton Baptist Homes in Alhambra, California. A Service of Remembrance will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home in Hastings Nebraska, followed by graveside committal at the Glenvil Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Myrle Louises honor can be sent to Atherton Baptist Homes, 214 S. Atlantic Blvd., Alhambra, CA 91801. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Brand-Wilson Funeral Home are in charge of the arrangements. Myrle was born August 24, 1915, on her parents farm in St. Michael, Nebraska. Myrle Louise graduated from the Clay Center High School in 1933 and that same year married Norris Elmer Frey of Glenvil, Nebraska. Over the next eleven years, Myrle Louise and Norris had five children, losing two of them to death as infants. In April 1944, Norris was killed in an explosion at the Naval Ammunition Depot. In October 1945, Myrle Louise and her three children moved to California to be near her mother. As a single mother, she raised her three children in San Diego, often working six days a week. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of San Diego. Myrle Louise moved to Lemon Grove, California, in late 1966. She became active in the Christian Church of Lemon Grove. In retirement, she kept busy with gardening and painting. In August 2004, just prior to her 89th birthday, Myrle Louise moved into Atherton Baptist Homes in Alhambra, California. Myrle Louise is survived by her three children: Bunnie (Irene) Cregut of Rapid City, South Dakota, Leonard Frey of Agoura Hills, California, and Neil Frey of Alhambra, California. She had 9 grandchildren (one whom is deceased), 14 great-grandchildren, And 10 great-great-grandchildren.
