Merl E. Timmerman Jr, 75 of Wood River, died Sunday, October 25, 2015 at Good Samaritan Society, Wood River, NE.



Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 30, 2015 at Wood River United Methodist Church in Wood River, with the Rev. Phil Sloat officiating. Inurnment will be in Ord Cemetery, Ord, NE. Cremation has taken place at his request. Memorials are suggested to the family. Apfel Funeral Home of Wood River is caring for the family.



Merl E. Timmerman Jr. was born December 14, 1939 in Ord, Nebraska the son of Merl & Louise (Patrick) Timmerman Sr. He grew up and received his education in Ord, Nebraska.



He was united in marriage to Betty Williams, August 15, 1959 in North Loup, Nebraska. The couple resided in Deer Lodge, Montana where he was an owner of a service station, later moving to Wood River, Nebraska where they made their home.



He was a member of the local Coffee Drinkers Club at Peters Hardware in Wood River.



His hobbies included working on small engines, yard work and gardening.



Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Betty Timmerman of Wood River, three daughters & son-in-law, Leshia Timmerman of Grand Island, Brenda & Dan Murphy of Hamilton, Ohio, Shanna Glenn of Wood River, Nebraska, two sons & daughters-in-law, Rodney & Morganna Timmerman of Kearney, Mark & Jennifer Timmerman of Huntsville, AL, 11 grandchildren, four great grandchildren, five sisters & brothers-in-law, Shirley Roark of Doniphan, Nebraska, Pat Ingraham of Ogden, UT, Janice Hodges of Butte, MT, Kathy & Jerry VanDeWalle of Grand Island, NE., Deb & Jim Fredrick of Wood River, NE, brothers & sisters-in-law, David & Kathy Timmerman of Ord, NE, and Roger and Denise Williams of Deer Lodge, Montana, numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncle and cousins.
