Harvard resident, Marian J. von Spreckelsen, 87, passed away peacefully, Thursday, October 30, 2008 at the Harvard Haven Home, Harvard, NE Services will be Monday, November 3, 2008 at 11:00 AM at the Harvard United Methodist Church with Rev. Dean Joy officiating. Burial will be in the Harvard Cemetery, Harvard, NE. Visitation will be Sunday, 6-8 p.m., November 2, 2008 at Alberding -Wilson Funeral Home, Harvard, NE. Marian was born, August 9, 1921 in Curlew, Iowa to John and Minnie Doty Cross. She married Carl von Spreckelsen on December 26, 1948in Hastings, Carl passed away on August 27, 2004. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Harvard where she was very active. She served on the church council and was superintendent and teacher in Sunday school and Bible school.. She also was involved in DAlta evening circle. She also was on the Inland school board and the Eastern Star. She is survived by, 2 daughters, Jane Kaufmann and husband Lynn of Lincoln and Barbara Sears and husband Stan of Hickman, NE and 1 son, Richard von Spreckelsen of Lincoln.. 1 brother Paul Cross of Lead, S.D. and 3 grandchildren Brad Kaufmann and wife Aaryn of Olathe, KS. , Beth Kaufmann of Overland Park, KS and Justin Sears of Hickman, NE. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and 2 brothers Emory and Don. Memorials may be given to Harvard United Methodist Church or the Harvard Rest Haven.
