Margery Mae Hibbert

Margery M. Hibbert, 88 of Wood River, Nebraska died Monday, January 12, 2014 at Good Samaritan Society, Wood River, NE.



Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 17, 2014 at the First United Methodist Church in Wood River with the Rev. Phil Sloat officiating. Inurnment will be 3:00 pm. Saturday, January 17, 2015 in Highland Cemetery, Adams, Nebraska. Visitation hours will be 5-7 p.m. Friday, January 16, 2015 at First United Methodist Church in Wood River. Memorials may be directed to the family and will be determined at a later date. Apfel Funeral Home in Wood River is caring for the family.



Margery M. Hibbert was born February 6, 1926 in Adams, Nebraska the daughter of Clarence & Esther (Fritz) Rapp. Margery graduated from Adams High School and attended Normal training. She was united in to Jack Hibbert on February 7, 1947 at Hopewell United Methodist Church of rural Sterling, Nebraska. The couple made their home on a farm in rural Johnson County and later became the owner/operators of the Filley Locker from 1967 to 1990. While in Filly she was a member of the United Methodist Church and held many offices within the church. In 2001 she moved to Wood River, and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Wood River.



Margery enjoyed her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also loved to sew, cook, quilt and spend time with her feline companion, Frosty.



Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Bev Voss (Cary) of Wood River, NE, David Hibbert of Omaha, NE, Deb Layne of Bellevue, NE and Sandy Walker of Cedar Rapids, IA. Sisters-in-law, Jean Rapp and Ruth Hibbert of Adams, NE, grandchildren, Dawn (Todd), Jeff (Tina), Matt (Tammi), Nicole, Mason, Jen (Chris), and great grandchildren, McKenzie, Daylon, Mason, Joey and Emma.



She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jack, son, Roger, brother, Don Rapp, sisters, Clairce Hesser & Marilyn Rapp, brothers-in-law, Melvin Hesser and Dean Hibbert, son-in-law, Gary Walker, niece, Kristi Rapp.
