Marcelyne M. Coutts

Hastings resident, Marcelyne M. Coutts, 79 of 812 N. Hewett, died Tuesday, January 2, 2007 at her home. Services will be, Saturday, January 6, 2007 at 11 AM at the Brand-Wilson Chapel, with the Rodney Wright officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Friday, January 5, 2007 from 9 Am to 9 Pm at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home and one hour prior to service time in the chapel. Mrs. Coutts was born, November 27, 1927 to Lester and Margaret (Andersen) Burge in Bladen, NE. She graduated from Ayr High School. After high school she went to California to work as a telephone operator. She moved back to Ayr and married Eugene Coutts, June 8, 1948, he died November 24, 1997, they were married 49 years. She loved bowling and bowled 2 to 3 times per week. She is survived by, 4 daughters, Peggy Post of Sutton, NE, Marcia Henry of Cheyenne, WY, Jacalyn Smith of Hastings, NE and Melissa Ekstein of Pauline, NE, her mother, Margaret Burge of Blue Hill, NE, 13 Grandchildren and 18 Great Grandchildren, 3 sisters, Donna Goedert of Hastings, NE, Wanda Wright of Blue Hill, NE and Shirley Allen of Blue Hill, NE, 2 brothers, Calvin Burge of Blue Hill, NE, and Ronald Burge of Cardington, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her husband, and her father in 1974. Memorials may be given to the Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital Cancer Center or the Hastings Pulmonary and Sleep Clinic.
