Lyle E Juett

December 4, 1928 — January 16, 2019

Lyle E. Juett, 90, of Grand Island, died Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at Lancaster Rehabilitation Center in Lincoln, NE.



Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday January 21, 2019 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Grand Island with Pastor Adam Snoberger officiating. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Sunday January 20, 2019 at Apfel Funeral Home in Grand Island. Memorials are suggested to the church.



Lyle was born December 4, 1928 at Giltner, Nebraska the son of Burt P. and Fay L. (Nelson) Juett. He grew up in Giltner and Phillips, attending Phillips School. In 1946 he joined the United States Army and served until 1948, then joined the United States Navy in 1951 serving until his honorable discharge in 1952. After his years of service he moved to Grand Island and worked as a carpenter for 20 years, then drove semi’s for 30 years.



He was united in marriage to Ethel L. Vinecore in 1953 at Grand Island. To this union, two children were born, Steve and Kathy. Ethel died August 10, 1990.



On September 14, 1991, Lyle married Dorothy L. Hoffman at Grand Island.



He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Grand Island, Disabled American Veterans,

the American Legion and a past member of the Eagles. Lyle enjoyed the outdoors and pheasant hunting.



Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Dorothy; son and daughter-in-law, Steve & Charlotte Juett of Monroe, Nebraska; daughter and son-in-law, Kathy & Jerry Harders of Boelus ; step-son and step-daughter-in-law, Chuck & Sue Hoffman of Grand Island, step-daughter, Shirley Thompson of Mesa, AZ.; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren; five step-grandchildren, 10 step-great grandchildren, six step-great-great grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Sharon & James Marz of Frederic, WI.



Lyle was preceded in death by his parents; first wife Ethel; three sisters, Darlene Loftus, Loretta Ballard, Mary Lou Leymaster; two brothers, Wilbur Juett and Bob Nelson; one stepson, Donald Hoffman; one grandchild, Karry Harders.
