Louise (Cage) Codner was born March 8, 1920 at Gallatin, TN to Ira and Mildred (Tyree) Cage. Her family moved to Nashville where Louise grew up and attended school. Following her graduation from high school, she worked as a secretary.

Louise married George Codner of Shelton, Nebraska at the West Nashville Cumberland Presbyterian Church on December 30, 1945. They made their home on a farm southeast of Shelton. A daughter, Anna Clair and a son Wain were born to complete their family.

Louise was a farmers wife, helper and homemaker. Everyone who would visit her home was invited in for coffee or tea, and a cookie. She enjoyed entertaining and brought to her home genuine southern hospitality. Pimento cheese and quick sticky buns were two of her extra special treats.

In their retirement years, Louise and George enjoyed dancing at the Platt Deutsche, dining out and attending community events.

Louise enjoyed activities with her family and friends. She also enjoyed gospel music and was active in church throughout her life.

For the past several years, she had resided at Bickford Cottage in Grand Island. She was appreciative of the compassionate care she received and enjoyed the people and activities while living there.

Over the years, she was a member of the Extra Mile Club, Shelton American Legion Auxiliary, the Shelton United Methodist Church and the Joy Circle of the church.

She is survived by her daughter, Anna Clair AC Codner; son and daughter-in-law, Wain and Dixie Codner; granddaughter, Melissa Codner; sister-in-law, Charlotte Pickering and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Louise was preceded in death by her husband, George; grandson Kyle Codner; twin sister, Lucille Mullinax, sister, Irene Roberts and brother, Howard Cage.
